Description
Here is a beautiful red example of the very first transistor radio made. To own the TR-1 is the goal of every collector, and here is a nice one. The fragile plastic cabinet has avoided the normal cracks, and only blemish is a small chip on the right side from the tab (pictured).
Inside, the chassis is all original with an early serial number of 18,970. The date code on the tuning capacitor is 447 or the 47th week of 1954. Also unique with this radio is the early small version label on the inside, found on only a few of the early issues.
This radio comes complete with a rare Minicam brand vintage 22.5 volt battery (dead of course) to complete the display. The radio is all original and is untested but believed to be non-playing.
